For more than 25 years, Matthew Welch has helped homebuyers navigate the mortgage process with a focus on personal service, clear communication, and finding solutions that fit each client's individual needs.
Matthew understands that buying or refinancing a home can feel intimidating, particularly when you're not sure where to start. His approach is to get to know each client, understand their financial situation and goals, and develop a mortgage plan that makes sense for them.
Mortgage Guidance for Every Stage
Matthew works with a wide range of borrowers, from first-time homebuyers to experienced homeowners. He helps clients purchase primary residences, vacation homes and move-up properties, as well as homeowners considering refinancing.
His experience includes Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and jumbo loans, along with first-time homebuyer assistance programs such as IHDA.
Matthew especially enjoys working with first-time homebuyers. He understands that there can be a lot of questions throughout the process and takes pride in helping clients understand their options and feel more confident from application through closing.
Serving Northern Illinois and Beyond
Matthew is licensed to lend in all 50 states, with a particular focus on Northern Illinois and the Chicago collar counties.
He combines the resources and stability of Luminate Bank with the flexibility of its mortgage lending platform, giving borrowers access to a broad range of financing options while maintaining the personal attention they expect from their Loan Officer.

Life Outside of Mortgage Lending
Matthew lives in McHenry County with his wife, Kamara, and their three children, Jacob, Kiara and Micah.
Family and community are important parts of Matthew's life outside of work. He enjoys attending his children's school activities and coaching sports, including high school football. He also volunteers at his church and teaches religious education classes for both children and adults.
Whether he's helping a first-time buyer purchase their first home, guiding an experienced homeowner through a refinance or helping a family find the right financing for their next move, Matthew brings more than two decades of mortgage experience and a genuine commitment to making the process a positive one.
